i have always been creative. i would never have called myself an artist, but looking back, i was always experimenting with something. it has only been in the last year of blogging that i can truly call myself an artist (thanks to the encouragement of my on- and offline friends). i have realized that being an artist is not just based on what i produce, but rather on who i am. i am constantly seeking beauty in the world around me and overflowing with ideas for new ways to express my creativity.
i truly believe in the power of creation. to make something beautiful where there was once nothing is a gift to the universe. it can be incredibly powerful to put a piece of oneself out into the world for others to experience and enjoy. the last year has seen my first public showing of my art…and even a sale! my husband and i have taken our passion for art and community and begun hosting workshops at our studio. and my blog has blossomed as a result of the inspiration and friendships i have found in the artful blogging community.
i want this space to continue to be a place to share my works in progress (see above) and what inspires me to create. i hope to continue to find new ways to express my creativity and connect with other artistic women around the world. i believe we are all creators…of beauty, of memories, of change, and ultimately…our lives.
